Save On Gear, Bikes, and Apparel With These Memorial Day Sales for Cyclists

Gear-obsessed editors choose every product we review. We may earn commission if you buy from a link. How we test gear.

Enjoy big discounts from Pearl Izumi, Priority, Thule, Smith, Tifosi, Specialized, and more.

Memorial Day is quickly approaching, so we’ll all soon be enjoying long weekend rides and a plethora of bicycling deals—like 25 percent off Pearl Izumi sitewide, REI's annual anniversary blowout sale, and up to $200 off bikes from Velotric.

Major retailers and cycling brands are slashing prices on gear, bikes, accessories, and apparel through the holiday weekend, with some sale events kicking off as early as today.

If you’re looking for new sweat-resistant garbs, a pannier for springtime commuting, a new ride for bike-packing, or a bike rack to get riding anywhere, take advantage of one of these Memorial Day 2023 deals below. Save big on brands like Pearl Izumi, Thule, REI Co-op, and more.

And don't forget to check back here as the day gets closer—we’ll keep this story updated with the best sales and deals.

Pearl Izumi is offering 25 percent off sitewide through May 29—no coupon code needed. Excluding limited-edition items from its Grateful Dead collaboration, you can save big on jerseys, bibs, gloves, socks, shoes—practically everything.

REI's biggest sale of the year kicks off May 19, lasts through May 29, and includes a slew of discounts on apparel, hitch racks, bike saddles, bike trainers, and more. While technically not a Memorial Day sale (it's the retailer's anniversary), the outdoor gear giant is offering 25 percent off all Ortlieb and Revelate Designs bags and accessories. You can save 25 percent on all bike saddles, CamelBak hydration packs, and Pearl Izumi clothing. (Check out the Popular Mechanics editors’ top picks from the REI anniversary sale here.)

Car racks, roof boxes, and rack accessories from Thule and Yakima are also 20 percent off, as are some of our favorite bike trainers from Wahoo Fitness.

Need noggin protection? REI's also got Smith helmets at 20 percent off. Anyone looking for a budget ride can grab a ride from Electra Bikes at 20 percent off as well, excluding its e-bikes.

REI Co-op Members also have exclusive access to discounts on Co-op Cycles, 25 percent off Bontrager helmets, and 30 percent off all REI Co-op Brand gear, clothing, and footwear.

Those looking for a new e-bike can save up to $200 off select rides from techy direct-to-consumer brand Velotric. Right now, you can grab one of our favorite electric bikes, the Discover 1, for $1,249, $150 off its regular list price. We dig the e-bike for its hydraulic disc brakes, color variety, and many free accessories like fenders and lights.

It's also UL Certified, meaning it's been tested for its quality and safety claims. With a top speed of 25 mph, five levels of pedal assist, a Shimano 7-speed drivetrain, and a 500W motor, this is one solid value. Grabbing any two bikes from Velotric's shop takes $200 off at checkout.

Some of our favorite sunglasses for riding are from Tifosi Optics. Currently, the brand is offering a sitewide sale on each of its models when you use code SALE25 at checkout. That knocks off about $20 on the Tifosi Rail, one of the best cycling sunglasses in terms of value, that hits far above its price with, according to Bicycling contributor Caitlin Giddings, "an unobstructed, frameless view that's sharp and undistorted."

While this Specialized sale isn't for Memorial Day specifically, the brand is running a spring sale on many of its bikes. You can take thousands off some of its bestsellers, including the bump-eating Stumpjumper and trail-ready Rockhopper models. Specialized also has plenty of apparel, accessories, and gear at a deep discount through the rest of May.

The Pro's Closet is having a massive Memorial Day sale now through May 30, with discounts on frames, helmets, gear, apparel, smartwatches, and accessories. The retailer 20% off Smith Optics, 20% off select styles from POC, 20% off items from Oakley, and up to 25% off Bell/Giro products. You can also nab a Garmin smartwatch or Serotta Duetti frameset for a few hundred dollars off.

If you're looking for a new bike, Priority is taking 15% off all of its complete bikes with coupon MDW15. This includes the brand's infamous fixie Ace and the summer-ready beach cruiser E-Coast Step-Through, which we deemed one of the market's best e-bikes. This sale runs through Monday night, so act fast before stock runs out.
