Skybound

Skyview Towers in Tears of the Kingdom are your best way of orienting yourself around Hyrule. Each one unlocks a portion of the map on your Purah Pad, making them essential markers to visit during your adventure.

Replacing the Watchtowers from Breath of the Wild, these have the same function, with the added ability to be able to launch you high into the sky. Not only do you get a portion of the Surface map, but you also get the corresponding Sky map above. Given that some of these towers are in areas you go to later in the game, there may be minor spoilers in some of these photos, so be wary.

Here are all of the Skyview Towers in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and how to access them.

Below you'll find a list of the towers, along with their approximate coordinates and the regional maps they unlock.

You'll get this Skyview Tower as part of the main story after you've spoken to the captain outside of Hyrule Castle. This one is unmissable, and since you'll be coming back to Lookout Landing a lot, it'll come in handy.

Hyrule Field's Skyview Tower has no unlock requirements, but it is guarded by a group of Bokoblins, complete with a Boss Bokoblin. Sneak into the base and attack them, or just run straight for the tower if you think you can make it.

Lindor's Brow is in the middle of a lake north of New Serenne Stable. You can swim over there because it's also on a raised platform you can't climb. Instead. you'll need to build an extremely long bridge across the pond to get to the tower using Ultrahand.

Everything you need should be right by the lake, and it doesn't need to be neat, just very long. Once you've built it, place it down and then walk all the way up to the tower. Interact with the terminal to unlock the map.

This tower is surrounded by thorns, and you can't jump over them. Instead, all you need to do is throw some fire fruit at the thorns to make them burn. Then, walk inside the tower and activate the terminal. Bring some warm clothes for this snowy tower and snowy ascent.

You can't get inside Eldin Canyon Tower from the front. Instead, you'll have to get in from above. To do that, you can use your Zonai devices (such as balloons, or glide from a high point nearby. Then, if you need to, climb the rest of the way.

Fall down the central shaft of the tower and then open the door by moving the two planks of wood on either side of it. Then you can use the tower.

For Sahasra Slope tower, bring lots of hammers or bombs with you, as you won't be able to enter this one from the front. There's a small network of caves just underneath the tower, which you'll need to destroy many rocks to get through.

You're looking for a small enclosed room in the caves. Use Ascend to pop up through the floor of the tower, interact with the terminal, and get flying. We have a walkthrough on how to find this room to access the Sahasra Slope Skyview Tower, so check that out for more info.

Northwest of the Zora Domain, throw some blue Chuchu Jelly or Splash Fruit at the door to clear the sludge off of it. Then you can nip inside the tower and activate it.

On the way to the tower, you'll spot an Aerocuda flying around it, carrying what looks like a terminal. Shoot it down with an arrow, and carry the tablet over to the engineer, who will fix it up when you pop it in the correct place. Then you can ride up to the Akkala skies.

This is one of the few towers that doesn't have any unlock requirements — you simply need to get there. Make plenty of warm dishes with spicy peppers or mushrooms. Go east from Kakariko Village or south from Zora Domain, and just be prepared to climb.

There's no power going to this Skyview Tower, which means you'll need to restore it somehow. Just outside of the tower, you'll sport the Popla Foothills North Well. Drop down it and you'll hear someone crying for help. To rescue them, you need to free them by entering a cave to the south of the hill. We go into depth in this a bit more in our Popla Foothills guide, but once you find the switch and free the man, you can Ascend up and ride the tower.

Gerudo Canyon tower overlooks the Gerudo desert, and you'll be able to spot it high up as you travel through the canyons on your way to Gerudo Town. However, you can't activate the terminal yet. Turn around and you'll spot a metal crate and a pulley system. Ultrahand the crated onto the right side of the pulley, and it'll weigh down the rope and pull up an engineer, who will fix up the tower for you.

One of the hardest towers to access is the Gerudo Highlands Tower, and we go into more detail about this in our guide. When you spot the tower, it's buried in snow. But what you need to do is find a cave behind the tower and follow it around, until you can Ascend up through the bottom and into another cave, where the entrance is.

Like Rospro Pass, Rabella Wetlands Tower is guarded by thorns, The difference here is that it's raining, meaning you can't just rely on fire fruit. However, using Ultrahand, you can build a shelter for the thorns that stands above them and covers them from the rain, allowing you to burn them down.

Once you've managed to do that, you'll be able to access the tower. You can find more detailed instructions in our Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower guide.

This tower in the harshest regions of Hebra and Tabantha doesn't have any unlock requirements, but you'll need lots of warming food. Make dishes with Spicy Peppers or don the Snowquill Set to keep warm. Stamina elixirs or climbing gear are also helpful. The tower is to the northwest of Snowfield Stable.

Thyphlo Ruins Tower is blocked at the top, which means power isn't reaching the terminal — who knew these were solar-powered? Anyway, you need to reach the top of the tower and move the floating platform out of the way, Fortunately, there's another platform nearby with two rockets, which you can Ultrahand and stick onto either side of the platform. Activate them, move the platform off of the roof of the tower, and then jump down the shaft to reach the terminal.

That's all 15 Skyview Towers, meaning your entire Sky and Surface map of Hyrule is complete. Looking for other hints, tips, tricks, and guides? Check out of Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough for all that and more.
